Android Developer
Mid-Level+We are looking for an Android Developer to join the Decker team and help build and enhance the client-side component of our system for devices connected to digital displays. This role requires more than strong coding skills. You will also need to understand the product’s operational requirements, including reliable 24/7 application performance, seamless content playback, server communication, failure handling, and operation under unstable network conditions.
Responsibilities- Develop and enhance the Android application used on client devices.
- Ensure stable and reliable content playback on digital displays.
- Implement media content downloading, storage, caching, and update functionality.
- Build data synchronization workflows between the client application and the backend.
- Implement and maintain online and offline operating scenarios.
- Work with content playback schedules and update rules.
- Integrate the client application with the platform’s APIs.
- Help improve device telemetry, logging, and monitoring capabilities.
- Investigate and resolve crashes, freezes, playback issues, and content update failures.
- Optimize application performance on Android-based devices and set-top boxes.
- Collaborate with the backend, frontend, and customer support teams on product development and operational issues.
Professional Requirements- Strong proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java.
- Professional Android development experience.
- Solid understanding of the Android application lifecycle and background processing.
- Experience working with REST APIs, JSON, network requests, and error handling.
- Experience with local data storage, caching, and offline functionality.
- Understanding of multithreading, asynchronous processing, and application stability during long-running sessions.
- Experience debugging and optimizing Android applications.
- Familiarity with application logs, crash reporting, and on-device issue diagnostics.
- Strong focus on performance, fault tolerance, and reliability.
- Experience working with Git.
Strongly Preferred- Experience with Android TV, set-top boxes, kiosk mode, or embedded Android devices.
- Experience developing digital signage applications, media players, self-service terminals, or other always-on solutions.
- Experience working with video, images, WebView, HTML content, or media playback engines.
- Understanding of the requirements and challenges of running applications 24/7.
- Experience implementing automatic startup, automatic updates, watchdog processes, and failure recovery mechanisms.
- Understanding of client-server architecture and device telemetry.
- Experience integrating with mobile device management systems, remote configuration tools, or remote device management platforms.
- Experience with Jira, YouTrack, Firebase, Crashlytics, analytics platforms, and monitoring systems.

Technical Support Specialist
Junior or Senior LevelWe are looking for a Technical Support Specialist to help Decker customers with their day-to-day use of the platform. This role requires more than strong communication skills. You should also be comfortable investigating technical issues involving devices, content publishing, data synchronization, display status, basic integrations, and incident diagnostics.
Responsibilities- Receive, review, and respond to customer support requests.
- Assist customers with the platform, account dashboard, and connected displays.
- Help customers publish content and update menus, promotions, and schedules.
- Perform initial troubleshooting for device, content, synchronization, and display issues.
- Provide ongoing customer support after project launch.
- Investigate both common and nonstandard incidents.
- Escalate issues to the technical team with clear, accurate, and complete descriptions.
- Collaborate with the development, implementation, and account management teams.
- Track the status of support requests and provide timely updates to customers.
- Contribute to user guides, knowledge base articles, and internal support procedures.
- Help train users and demonstrate the platform’s core workflows.
Professional Requirements- Experience in technical support, customer support, or supporting IT products.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to explain technical concepts clearly to nontechnical users.
- Basic understanding of web services, client-server architecture, and SaaS platforms.
- The ability to analyze issues, gather relevant information, and reproduce error scenarios.
- Experience working with ticketing and customer request management systems.
- Confidence working with web browsers, customer dashboards, and administrative interfaces.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when sharing information with internal teams.
- The ability to follow established procedures, service-level agreements, and internal processes.
- The ability to manage multiple support requests simultaneously without compromising quality.
Strongly Preferred- Experience supporting digital signage, content management systems, point-of-sale systems, enterprise resource planning systems, 1C software, or solutions for the retail or hospitality industries.
- Experience supporting products involving displays, connected devices, content, or multimedia.
- Basic networking knowledge, including internet connectivity, IP addresses, device availability, and remote diagnostics.
- Experience working with logs, screenshots, screen recordings, telemetry, and device status information.
- Understanding of APIs, integrations, and common data exchange workflows.
- Experience writing help center content, user instructions, and knowledge base articles.
- Experience conducting customer onboarding, product demonstrations, or user training.
